Terms of Service

Last updated September 28, 2026

These terms apply to downloading and using flow, the personal assistant app for Mac, and to this website. By using flow you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use flow.

The software

flow is free, open-source software released under the MIT License. The license governs your rights to use, copy, modify and distribute the source code. These terms add to it for the app as distributed from this site; where they conflict, the license wins.

Your responsibilities

  • flow acts on your behalf with the accounts, apps and services you connect. You are responsible for what it does with them, including messages it sends and actions you approve.
  • Review what flow shows you before approving an action. Automatic workflows you set up run without asking each time.
  • You must follow the terms of the services you connect, including your model provider, Google, Apple and any website flow uses for you.
  • Do not use flow for anything unlawful, abusive or harmful to others.

Third-party services

flow works with services it does not control, such as model providers, Google, iMessage and any MCP servers or skills you add. Their own terms and privacy policies apply, and their cost, availability and behavior are up to them. Usage charges from your model provider are yours.

AI output

flow relies on AI models, which can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check anything important, and do not rely on flow for medical, legal, financial or safety-critical decisions.

No warranty

flow is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. There is no guarantee that it will work without errors or interruption, or that it will not lose data. Keep backups of anything important.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, the developer and contributors of flow are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of flow or this website, even if advised of the possibility. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for flow, which is zero.

Privacy

flow keeps its data on your Mac. The Privacy Policy explains what leaves your Mac and where it goes.

Changes

These terms may be updated. The new version will be posted here with a new date, and continuing to use flow after that means you accept it.
